awaiting call to continue life

awaiting call to continue life

life winged softly
hollow boned
breath
&
blood
quickened

fear gripped
her body
tightening
jaw
&
neck

death's
secrets
long ago
sealed
within familial
code

anxiety danced
her
to the phone
she exhaled,
then
received the doctor's call
